How We Help

The exact process for finding tax freedom is more simple than you might think.

Every day, from grocery shopping to paying property taxes, we’re constantly affected by taxes. However, when it comes to income tax, there’s room for change. The complexity of the US Tax Code often leaves individuals feeling overwhelmed and misunderstood.

At Make Taxes Fair, we view this code as an intricate masterpiece designed to empower entrepreneurs. Our team of experts is dedicated to decoding it, offering tailored solutions to maximize savings. If you’re tired of feeling lost in the tax world, let us guide you through our proven system.

Assessment

Question 1: How can I know how much I will be paying in taxes this year?

Answer: We begin our relationship with you by analyzing your entire world. We dive into your financials and look at your business projections. We ask a lot of questions and provide you with Tax Projections based on your numbers and business goals. The nice thing about the US Tax Code, yes, I said that, is that it’s a math problem. If we know your accurate numbers for the current year and do a good job of forecasting the future growth of your company, then we can also be accurate in knowing what you are going to pay for tax for the current year.

Customized Strategy

Question 2: When I ask for tax strategy from my current professional I never get straight answers so how can I know what’s available to me and how to do it right?

Answer: We have developed our Tax Strategy FOCUS System which is customized tax strategy designed specifically for you and combined it with a monthly communication and live Q&A webinar in which our whole community collaborates to learn and get better at tax strategy. We also pre-schedule our tax strategy implementation meetings with you for THE ENTIRE YEAR ahead of time!

Ongoing Communication

Question 3: How can I be sure that my taxes are being filed accurately and have been accurate in the past?

Answer: We require things to be accurate and that starts with accurate reporting. First, we require that you have up-to-date bookkeeping figures in order for us to do our job correctly. Have you ever had a tax professional require that you have accurate bookkeeping? It’s essential to do things right. On top of that, we also review your previous 3 years of tax returns as a part of our services. If there were missed deductions and money you should have kept instead of paying to the IRS we can identify those and get you money back.

Proactive Defense

Question 4: How can I know if I am doing things correctly and if I might be audited?

Answer: We have your back by first filing with the IRS on your behalf so if you get a communication from them we receive that same information. That way, we are on top of it and analyzing it before you even have a chance to ask, “Am I being audited!?” We also have an analysis we put every client through to determine how Audit Proof you are. It’s a test of your business records and we give you the solutions to make changes and keep records the way the IRS wants you to so an audit can be as quick and painless as possible. If that wasn’t enough we also build in representation in an audit as part of our services to you. At every level we have hours of Audit Representation that are included so you can sleep well at night knowing that if an audit does happen we have your back.

Redefining Your Tax Experience

The tax system is BROKEN!

Exhibit A: 6.8 BILLION hours were spent in 2023 preparing tax returns. At a bargain rate of $35.00/hour that equals 238 BILLION dollars in labor hours spent just navigating the tax return PREPARATION process.

What a mess of regulation and red tape.

At Make Taxes Fair, we believe you deserve better than to be stuck in that broken system.

Most tax professionals are what we call “Happy Historians”.

They take your data, put it in the right boxes on the tax returns with not much effort spent on engaging you in a PROACTIVE process.

This results in YOU overpaying in taxes and being stuck with a reactive state.

And since you desperately need, deserve, and want better you seek advice where you can often relying on:

  • Your “Happy Historian” tax professional and their reactive advice,
  • Friends and colleagues with mixed results and not a high level of confidence in the accuracy of the information, and
  • Slogging through the depths of the internet abyss

The result of all of this is spotty and unreliable information that gets you more confused than when you started.

The Big 3 Sources of Tax Advice For Most…

The Happy
Historian

The Problem

You’re more aggressive with seeking tax advice than your tax pro.

And if you’ve ever felt lost in a conversation with a tax professional using phrases like “gray area” and “red flag” then you’re not alone.

You hunted down tax strategies and ended up getting shot down.

Here’s the brutal truth:

Most tax professionals are busy business owners themselves and they don’t invest in becoming proactive tax advisors for their clients.

Most accountants are not seeking to understand and apply the same strategies that are used by the rich and famous.

Those strategies are “audit risks” and “gray areas” of the tax code.

Phrases like that are code for “I don’t know what you’re talking about and I don’t have time to understand what you’re talking about.”

It is far easier to dismiss and move on than dig in, digest new information, and change one’s thinking about the problem.

Ultimately, this is also the reason they don’t follow through on getting together with you to do tax planning during the year when you ask them to.

They don’t know how to do it and don’t have a system for it so they don’t have any answers for you.

The Solution

At Make Taxes Fair we do understand the tax code and we know how every legal tax strategy works.

Above all, we have a thorough yet understandable and coachable system to put those strategies into action for you.

There are illegitimate strategies and things that should be avoided. But there are many more strategies that simply work when properly executed.

You deserve to STOP WASTING your hard earned business profits on taxes.

Following
The Crowd

The Problem

Friends mean well and it doesn’t hurt to talk to others about what they do.

However, taking tax advice from a friend who is not a tax professional, specifically a tax strategist with a proven history, is risky business.

You wouldn’t perform surgery on yourself or ask a friend who was not a surgeon to do so right?

The same goes when something as ominous as your tax filings and paying less in taxes is concerned.

Your business owner friends passing around tax strategy advice is like when you were a kid playing the telephone game.

The advice gets more fragmented and pieces change every time it’s passed to someone new and that’s not even considering whether or not it was legitimate advice in the first place.

The tax code is a set of rules and those rules need to be followed.

The Solution

We ditch the guesswork and get you a strategy backed by qualified information and expertise tailored to your unique circumstances.

Every one of our strategies are implemented for you by a tax professional with the proper studies and degrees in the realm of tax so it stays professional.

The Internet
Abyss

The Problem

We live in a marvelous age! Google and the information superhighway are at our fingertips.

The problem is that with every good piece of information on the internet comes dozens of fragmented, outdated, and incomplete pieces of information to muddle the picture.

Ever seen anyone dig into WebMD? They come out the other side believing that they’re going to die of (insert whatever wild maledy that you can think of) tomorrow!

The Solution

We cut through the internet noise with reliable, fact-backed strategies born out of our hands-on experience.

We study the tax code and tax law continuously so we understand it and can explain it in simpler terms.

The result? You’re getting factual information straight from the source and you don’t have to be a tax expert yourself to understand the strategy we develop for you.

Are you ready to declare Tax Freedom?

The Key To It All: The WHOLE You!

There are no two people on planet earth who are exactly the same.

Your business isn’t a template, and your tax strategy shouldn’t be either.

Facts and numbers are the base for accounting and tax strategy but it’s you and your family that define your business and why you started it in the first place.

When we work with you to do tax strategy we want to know you and your story on a deeper level.

We want to know:

  • How you got started in your words as well as analyze your past tax returns.
  • What the greatest challenges are that you are facing in your business right now as well as consider your P&L statement and balance sheet.
  • What your retirement plans are and how you want to leave a legacy in addition to your three, five and ten year projections.
  • What your dreams and goals are for the immediate, intermediate and far future.

Getting Personal

Picture this – a cozy chat about your business over a cup of coffee. We’re not here to throw jargon at you. We want to know your business quirks, dreams, and everything in between. Corporate structure, growth plans, family involvement – it all matters. That’s why we ask all of the questions that we do. We’re not being nosy, we’re interested in getting to know you and making sure that we are providing you with a strategy that gets you to your goals.

You are what makes the results of everything we do worth it.

Beyond Quick Wins

Sure, quick tax wins are sweet, but what about the long game?

At Make Taxes Fair, we’re in it for the marathon, not the sprint.

We’re talking about making taxes work for you, especially during those game-changing moments like exiting your business.

Every tax dollar saved along the way counts but it’s a huge win at the end when you go to sell your business, your life’s work, and you can save every dollar of tax possible.

For many people this is the difference between retiring for ten or twelve years in your current home until your money runs out and you have to go back to work and being able to retire in your dream home and lifestyle wherever in the world that may be.
